Administration. Troserch Woodlands Society (TWS) is a community-based society set up to secure public access, and to promote participation and awareness of environmental issues. And to find the necessary funds to do it. The TWS constitution, on a Charity Commission model, provides for an executive committee elected by all members at an annual general meeting. Membership is open to anyone over 16, with a subscription of £5 a year On advice from solicitors, the TWS steering committee set up a non-profit company Troserch Woodlands (Property) Ltd to take on formal ownership and management of the woods. This company status, limited by guarantee, protects individual members from unlimited liability in case of claims or loss. The Company is made up solely of the members elected to the TWS executive committee at AGM and is bound by the constitution, aims and objectives of the Society. The TWS has its own bank account for funds raised, from which it supplies the money necessary for works and maintenance to the account of TWS (Property) Ltd. Ideas and plans are worked out at TWS committee meetings
on the first Wednesday of each month, at the Old People’s Hall on
the corner of Tirgof in Llangennech. These meetings are open to all members,
and would-be members who join on the night. We also run a Yahoo Groups
site to which all interested parties are invited to join and to contribute
comments, photos, information etc. For more information please contact
our secreatry. |
